The Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET) offers admissions to all interested Candidates who wish to study in SLIET. Every year it conducts SLIET Entrance Test (SET) for providing admissions to the various programs of B.Tech, M.Tech, and MBA, Ph.D. and M.Sc. All Interested aspirants can apply to SLIET SET 2019. SLIET Entrance Test (SET) will announce the official notification of SET 2019. The SET 2019 will be held to offer admission for all desirable contenders.

Eligibility Criteria for SLIET SET 2019:
Here we have given the eligibility criteria separately for each course accordingly to the university rules:
Three-Year ICD (Integrated Certificate Diploma) Program (SET-I & SET-IA):
- Candidates must have passed their 10th standard in any recognised board and with compulsory subjects of English, Mathematics and Science.
- Candidates who want to join as Lateral Entry ICD (2nd year) They must have passed in 2 years ITI/Certificate/10+2 (vocational) in relevant trade.
- Candidates must have 50% marks(45% for reserved categories) from Govt./Semi Govt. Institute along with 2 years industrial experience from Govt./Semi Govt. and Private Industry of repute
BE (4 Year) [Admission through JEE (Main)]
- Eligibility condition as per JEE (Main)-2018; Admission/Counselling through CSAB-2019 /JOSSA-2019
B.E (Lateral Entry) (SET-III) – 3 Years
- Candidates who have passed Diploma course in any discipline from SLIET or from any other polytechnic affiliated with any State Board of Technical Education and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
- Students must have 55% marks (50% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) are eligible.
- Candidates who are pursuing final year may also apply.
M. Tech Program (2 years)
- Candidates will be a graduate of B. Tech. /B.E. /B.Sc. (Eng) Degree of recognized University/Institute.
- Candidates who have three years of professional experience in reputed organization can alo eligible.
- Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks (55% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories)
- Candidates must have a valid GATE score
MBA Program (SET-IV) – 2 Years
- Candidates should be a graduate of Bachelor’s Degree, B. Tech., B.E., B.Sc., B.Com or Graduation with Economics and Mathematics from any recognised university.
- Must have at least 55% or more marks(50% or more marks for students belong to SC/ST) or
Selection Procedure for MBA Program (SET-IV) – 2 Years
- Candidates must be qualified GATE or CAT or CMAT-2019 to get MBA admission
- Candidates will have to appear for Group Discussion and Interview at SLIET Longowal for MBA admission
M.Sc. Program (2 Years)
- Candidates should have at least 55% marks (50% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories).
- Candidates must have a degree of B.Sc. Degree with Physics/ B.Sc. Degree with Chemistry/ B.Sc. Degree with Mathematics from any recognised university.
Selection Procedure for M.Sc. Program (2 Years)
- Candidates must be qualified in CCMN-2018 for admission in M.Sc.
- Candidates shall have to appear in SET entrance examination to fill up the vacant seats at SLIET
PhD Program (SET-V)
- Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Science / Humanities / Management
- Candidates must securing 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) in relevant disciplines (MCA degree is not eligible for Ph.D.in CSE)
Selection Procedure for PhD Program (SET-V)
The selection will be done through 2 Stages:
- Entrance Test (SET-V)
- An Interview/Viva-Voce
The Entrance Test (SET-V) will conduct by SLIET University. Candidates must be qualifying with 50%. The Entrance Test will consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific.
An Interview/Viva-Voce will also conduct by SLIET. The candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before a duly constituted Dept.
Exam Pattern for SLIET SET 2019
The exam pattern of SLIET Entrance Test (SET) 2019 is given below. Candidates can follow the below pattern and start preparation.
- The exam will contain objective-type questions.
- Each question carries 1 mark.
- The duration of the exam is 150 minutes for SET I/I-A/III and 120 minutes for SET V.
The exam pattern is different for each program. Admission into B.Tech, MBA and M.Tech Program will be through JEE Mains, CAT and GATE scores respectively.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, MENTAL APTITUDE & ENGLISH Marks: 20 (20 Questions)
General Science, Current events of National and International importance, History of India, Indian Politics and Economy, Indian National Movement, General Mental ability, Idioms/Phrases, Usage of Tenses, Change the form of Narration, Fill in the blanks with suitable words.
MATHEMATICS Marks: 20 (20Questions)
Algebra: Solution of quadratic equations, relationship between their roots and coefficients. Equations reducible to quadratic equation. Symmetric Functions of roots. Formation of a quadratic equation with given roots. Arithmetic progression, Geometric progression and Arithmetico-Geometric series. Series of natural numbers (? n, ? n 2, ? n 3). Mathematical induction, Permutations and Combinations, Binomial theorem for any index.

Moment of Inertia: Moment of Inertia (M.I.) of rigid body, radius of gyration, theorem of parallel and perpendicular axes, M.I. of a straight rod, circular ring, circular disc, relation between torque and M.I., kinetic energy, motion of point mass tied to the string to the wound on a cylinder, motion of cylinder rolling without slipping on an inclined plane.

Admit Card for SLIET SET 2019:
Candidates can get their Admit cards on Official website. They have to visit official website and download/printout the Admit card for future reference. The Admit card will includes the details of the exam i.e. date, time and exam centre name. Candidates who will not bring the admit card at the exam centre they will not be allowed to the exam.
SLIET Entrance Exam (SET) 2019 Result:
The result will be announced by the university through online. It will post on their official website. Based on the results the admission of various programmes for 2019-2020 will be granted by the university. Candidates can find their results in the official website of SLIET.
SLIET Entrance Exam (SET) 2019 Counselling:
The SLIET University conducts the counselling through the online for B.Tech and M.Tech only. Based on the merit list only the seats will be allotted to the students. The candidates who are qualified in the exam must have to appear counselling to get admission. Candidates have to fill their options of courses based on their choice of interest.
There are two modes of admissions such as Direct Entry seats and Vertical Entry seats.
