Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- A Minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) or equivalent in Bachelor’s Degree as well as in 12th and 10th standard examinations.

Age Limit:
- Candidates must have age of 24 years on the 1st of August 2021
- Upper age limit: 34 years on the 1st of August 2021
- The above age criteria for general category candidates
- For M. Phil and Ph. D candidates the upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years, respectively.
- As per extant practice age relaxation will be available to experienced candidates viz. candidates having experience as an officer in Commercial Bank/ Financial Institution in Public Sector as also candidates with prior experience in Reserve Bank of India, to the extent of number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. For such candidates, upper age limit should not exceed 33 years including experience. For experience, probationary period will not be reckoned.
- There are relaxations in upper age limit as per statutory requirements and for the staff.

Number of Attempts:
If in future, vacancies for any of the above Specialists post arise then the following rule will apply:
- Candidates belonging to unreserved i.e. General Category, who have already appeared Six times for the post in the past, are not eligible to apply.
- No such restriction applies to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD, if the posts are reserved for them.
Selection Process of RBI SO (Grade-B):
The selection process will be done through 3-phases of Online/Offline exams. Such as Prelims, Mains and Personal interview. The candidates who are qualified in Prelims and Mains will be called for Interview. We have given the detailed information of selection process in below.
Phase-I or Prelims:
It is an Objective Type Question Paper. Time duration is 2 hours and maximum marks 200 allotted to the exam.
Phase-II or Mains:
Phase-II or Mains exam contains 3 Papers and it will carry a total of 300 marks.
(a) Paper-I: It is an online Objective test based on the Professional Knowledge in the area of specialization. The time limit of exam is 90 Minutes and the marks carried for 100 marks.
(b) Paper-II: This is an online descriptive exam. It includes Economic and Social Issues questions and carries 100 marks within the time limit of 90 Minutes.
(c) Paper-III: It is an offline descriptive exam. The questions will be from Professional knowledge in the area of Specialization (Finance & Management/ Economics/ Statistics) which carries total of 100 marks at the time limit of 90 Minutes.
Phase-III or Interview:
After qualifying in the 2 Phases candidates have to appear in the Interview. The interview is held to carry maximum of 50 marks.
