OSSC recruits Combined Graduate Level Examination in a two stage selection Procedure on direct recruitment basis. Selection Procedure includes Written test (Paper-I, Paper-II) and Certificate Verification Process. Total Marks of the written test is 200 marks. No. of Questions in the written test is 200. Candidates who Got qualified in the written test (CGL Examination) are only eligible to appear for the Certificate verification process. Only correct answer will be awarded marks. For every wrong answer 1/4 of the mark will be deducted.

About Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC):

Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) was set up by Govt. of Odisha as a statutory body in the year 1994 for carrying out direct recruitment against Group-C & Group-B posts in the State cadre. There are more than 140 different cadres of posts/ services under various Departments of Government against which recruitments are made through this Commission. .

Prior to shifting of the Commission’s office to Unit-V, Bhubaneswar-751054, it was functioning at OFDC building, Buxi Bazar, Cuttack with skeletal staff deputed from different Heads of Departments of Govt. of Odisha.

The Commission is headed by the Chairman aided by three Members. They are appointed by the Government of Odisha and are governed by Rules regulating their recruitment and conditions of service as framed by Govt. from time to time. The Commission is accountable to the General Administration & Public Grievance Department of Government in administrative and financial matters. Secretary is the Head of Office and assisting officials are the Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary, Administrative Officer, Accounts Officer, Private Secretary, Establishment Officer, Section Officer, Assistant Section Officers, Statistical Assistant, Junior Assistants, Stenographers, Typists etc. Chairman is vested with the authority to dispose of matters pertaining to discharge of the Commission’s mandate, and its smooth functioning.

OSSC CGL Examination Pattern 2023:

Candidates who applied for the posts of OSSC Combined Graduate Level Examination 2023 must read the examination pattern. OSSC CGL Examination will be conducted through computer-based recruitment mode (CBRE). There will be 2 papers in the OSSC CGL Examination, i.e. Paper-I (Mathematics & Reasoning), Paper-II (Composite Paper). Each paper comprises of 100 objective questions. Candidates who got qualified in the written examination (CBRE) are only eligible to appear for Certificate Verification process. Candidates 1.5 times of the vacancies advertised in order of merit category wise basing on

There shall be no viva voce Test. The candidate who remain absent in this stage ( certificate verification), his/her name shall be deleted from the Common merit list and he/she shall not be considered while preparing the select list

Select List:

The select list shall be prepared post wise indicating office to which allotted in order of merit category wise equal to the vacancies advertised as per options exercised by the candidates from the common merit list (prepared on the basis of performance in CBRE), who are found suitable for the post in certificate verification. The names of the candidates shall be deleted from the common merit list who fails to appear in certificate verification.
