::National Hospitality Teachers Eligibility Test (NHTET – MARCH 2018 ) :: Apply

NHTET National Hospitality Teachers Eligibility Test is now compulsory to become eligible to apply for the direct recruitment posts of ‘Assistant Lecturer’ and ‘Teaching Associates’ in all the 59 IHMs functioning under the umbrella of the Council, either the Institute is
sponsored by Central Govt., State Govt., PSU or by Private, since it made the part of affiliation regulation.

NHTET-2018

Brief About NHTET 

1. The scheme is to filter the best among the better to declare them eligible for Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Associates in NCHMCT affiliated IHMs and will be known as NHTET Scheme

2. The scheme will be applicable to the citizen of India who fulfills the other eligibility criteria prescribed under this scheme

3. The candidate declared eligible for Assistant Lecturer or Teaching Associates will have the only right to apply for any vacancy if announced by NCHMCT affiliated any IHM, irrespective of either Central Govt. Institute, State Govt. Institute, PSU Institute or Private Institute. The NHTET qualified candidate will not have any right of automatic induction in NCHMCT affiliated any IHM

They have to face a separate selection process for induction as Assistant lecturer or Teaching Associates to be conducted by the individual institute

4. Any NCHMCT affiliated IHM shall not recruit any teaching faculty under direct recruitment against any regular vacancy if the candidate does not have a valid NHTET pass certificate

Eligibility Criteria for NHTET – MARCH 2018

• Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management after 10+2 from a recognized University with at least 60% marks with at least 2 years Industry Experience after obtaining Degree (IT is part of Course, not considered as exp). OR
Full-time Master’s Degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management after Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management from a recognized University with at least 60% marks either in Bachelor or Master’s Degree.

• Candidates appearing in the final semester/ final year exam of the master’s degree and have passed all subjects of previous year/ semester can also apply.

Age Limit for NHTET – MARCH 2018

To be counted as on 30th April 2018
• General Category 30 years
• OBC Category 33 years
• SC/ST and PD Categories 35 years

On passing the NHTET they will be allowed to apply against any vacancy of AL and TA (of which, maximum age is 30 years with relaxation for reserved candidates).

Selection Procedure of NHTET 2018

NHTET will comprise of following steps:

Step I: Minimum marks to be obtained in NHTET for considering candidate eligibility for Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Associates in NCHM and its any affiliated IHM:
The candidates are required to obtain following minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II, Paper-III and Aggregate of three Papers, to become eligible for both i.e. Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Associates, are as given below

General / OBC
Paper I: 45 (45%) out of 100
Paper II: 45 (45%) out of 100
Paper III: 100 (50 %) out of 200
Aggregate: 200 (50 %) out of 400

PWD/ SC/ ST
Paper I: 40 (40%) out of 100
Paper II: 40 (40%) out of 100
Paper III: 90 (45 %) out of 400
Aggregate: 180 (45 %) out of 400
The candidates are required to obtain following minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II, Paper-III and Aggregate of three Papers, to become eligible only for Teaching Associate, are as given below

General / OBC
Paper I: 40 (40%) out of 100
Paper II: 40 (40%) out of 100
Paper III: 90 (45 %) out of 200
Aggregate: 180 (45 %) out of 400

PWD/ SC/ ST
Paper I: 35(35%) out of 100
Paper II: 35 (35%) out of 100
Paper III: 80 (40 %) out of 400
Aggregate: 160 (40 %) out of 400

Step II: Amongst those candidates who have cleared step I, a detailed mark sheet-cum-certificate will be prepared and send to such candidates. The said certificate will remain valid for the period mentioned on it, to apply for a post of Assistant Lecturer in NCHM or any of its affiliated IHMs

Step III: Those candidates who have not cleared step I, a detailed mark sheet will be prepared with a remark ‘not cleared’ and will be displayed in the web portal www.thims.gov.in.
It may be noted that the above qualifying criteria decided by NCHMCT is final and binding. However, the NCHMCT has the power to change the qualifying criteria if feel necessary and notify along with reason for change before declaring the result

Scheme and Date of Test

The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held once in a calendar year. However, in case of insufficient candidates are qualified, the NCHMCT can hold the exam twice in a calendar year. The test will be held on a single day in two separate sessions as under:

Paper-I: First (1 hour from 09.00 am to 10.00 am) – 50 Questions; 100 Marks (each question will carry 2 marks)

Paper-II: First (1 hour, from 10.30 am to 11.30 am) – 50 Questions; 100 Marks (each question will carry 2 marks)

Paper-III: Second (2 hours, from 02.00 pm to 04.00 pm) – 100 Questions; 200 Marks (each question will carry 2 marks)

Paper-I, II: Negative Marking – ½ marks for each wrong answer or for double attempted

Paper-III: Negative Marking – 0 marks for the questions not attempted

The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet provided along with the Test Booklet

The detailed instructions for filling up the OMR Sheet will be mentioned in the call letter/ hall ticket

Application Procedure for NHTET – MARCH 2018

The interested candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria, can apply online only through admission notification in our online admission portal www.thims.gov.in. Details brochure with Exam Scheme, Passing criteria is also available in the portal.
Candidate has to send print out of the filled in online application along with necessary fee through a demand draft by speed post, which should reach NCHMCT, Noida latest by28th February positively.

ON- LINE APPLICATION FEE : Rs.800/- for General/OBC categories(male candidates only)
And Rs.400/- for all female candidates as well as SC/ST/PD categories
