About Andhra Pradesh (AP) SCERT:
The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Andhra Pradesh, was established on 27-07-1967, amalgamating the following institutions.
1. The State Institute of Education.

1. Children’s participation and reflection -10 Marks

• For languages – Read any book other than the textbook and write a report,
• Mathematics – prepare own problems and solutions,
• Science – prepare a lab report on an experiment done by him/her
• Social – Express opinions on contemporary issues

2. The project works -10 Marks: Any other suitable tool may be developed by teacher preparation and presentation of Projects, Model making, art, paintings, etc..

3. Written works- 10 Marks: Own expressions in note books, field observation, data collection and analysis reports, creative writings, etc..

4. Slip test- 20 Marks: The slip test should be conducted on selected Academic Standards. There is no need to conduct a slip test in a specified timetable like our conventional unit test examinations. AP FA2 Examination Schedule 2022

Andhra Pradesh Formative Assessment 2 (FA2) Exams will be usually conducted in the month of July/ August 2022. Primary Classes timetables and Secondary classes timetables are different. AP FA2 Exam Instructions:

• In the FA2 Exam time duration of 45 Minutes.
• Every student should thoroughly examine the question paper before proceeding.

AP FA2 Examination Guidelines & Instructions:

For conducting FA I Examination the following guidelines shall be followed:
a. FA I shall be conducted within the syllabus prescribed for school readiness/worksheets supplied by the government / first lesson or chapter of the concerned subject.
b. The following four tools are helpful to assess students in other cognitive areas like communication, participation, presentation, aesthetics, etc.
i. Tool 1: Children participation and refection – (Languages – Read any book other than text book and write a report, Mathematics – prepare own problems and solution, Science – prepare lab report on experiment done by him/her, Social – Express opinions on contemporary issues) – (10 marks)
ii. Tool 2: Written works- (own expressions in notebooks, field observation, data collection, and analysis reports, creative writings, etc.) (10 marks)
iii. Tool 3: Project works – (Any other suitable tool may be developed by teacher preparation and presentation of Projects, Lab activities, Model making, art, paintings, etc.) (10 marks)

In the case of Science, Physical Science and Biological Science teachers are directed to conduct and record Formative Assessment separately for 50 marks each and the average mark shall be recorded under science subject. Under any circumstances printed/ common question papers are not suggested for formative assessment.

Formative Assessment for Primary Classes:

There shall be a formative assessment for Primary Classes compulsorily. For this purpose, the SCERT shall communicate the guidelines separately.

There are two types of assessment. One is formative and the other is summative.

Guidelines for Formative Assessment

Formative assessment is done based on four tools that cover all the language competencies (academic standards).

These are:

Observation
Notebooks
Project work
Slip tests.
50 marks are allotted for each Formative Assessment out of which, 10 marks each for observation, notebooks, and project work, and 20 marks for slip tests. The teacher has to assess the performance of the learners during each term. This is not a single-day activity; it is a cumulative account of what has happened in a day-to-day classroom transaction.
